NC Election Alternatives Survey DUE JANUARY 6. 2012

Dear Neighborhood Council (NC) Leaders,

To measure each NC election preferences, the City Clerk has developed the NC Election Alternatives Survey for your NC Board to discuss, complete and approve.  This is a friendly reminder that the NC Election Alternatives Survey's due date is quickly approaching.  Please be sure to add the survey to your December board meeting's agenda.  You may access this survey at: NC Election Alternatives Survey

This survey must be completed and submitted to the City Clerk no later than Friday, January 6, 2012 in order to ensure its inclusion in the final report to the Mayor and City Council.  To ensure that your NC Board has enough time to discuss, complete and approve this survey before this deadline, we respectfully request that you place this survey on the next available General Board Meeting Agenda.

To assist your NC with election methods discussed at the NC Election Alternatives Educational Workshops held in October 2011, we have developed a brief factsheet on the following topics for your board members to review.  Additionally, please refer to the list of common election processes and cost variables which are associated with most election methods.  These documents can be accessed at: NC Election Alternatives FactsheetNC Election Common Processes and Cost Variables

Please note that a version of this survey will also be available for individual stakeholders or board members who would like to complete and submit a survey separate from the board.  We would greatly appreciate if your NC could notify stakeholders in your community about this issue and the stakeholder survey so that their voice may be included in this matter.  This survey can be accessed at Stakeholder Election Alternatives Survey.  These surveys will also be due to the City Clerk by Friday, January 6, 2012.

If your NC Board or stakeholders have any questions or concerns regarding the survey or the supplemental material, please call the City Clerk - Election Division at (213) 978-0444 or email us at clerk.electionsnc@lacity.org.

Thank you and Happy Holidays,
