STREET CLOSURES - May Day Rallies and Marches in Downtown Los Angeles

There are multiple LAPD SEU - May Day Multiple Events 5-1-12 copy 2 on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 starting at 7:00 A.M. and ending as late as 6:30 P.M.
CROWDS ARE EXPECTED TO EXCEED 30, 000 WITH MAJOR IMPACTS TO STREETS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. (see attached report from LAPD Special Events Unit.). Check with your Public Transportation Provider to see if any changes have made to schedules or transportation routes to accommodate these events.
Impacts to all Downtown areas will be extensive  -  staging areas are just south of Olympic on Broadway and the ending Rally area is on Broadway between 1st Street and Temple Street (see the attached LADOT Traffic Control Plan (TCP) is the approved route).
Due to the anticipated volume of persons  to be in Downtown Los Angeles that day, please make sure that all jobs are well clear of the Downtown (look at the attached LADOT TCP for main impact areas). Remember that with this type of volume, not everyone will remain in the area assigned for the marches and anticipate a huge increases in pedestrian traffic.
Public Safety and the safety of your crews is job 1.
